Missioning Ceremony

The first Directors of Calvary Ministries, Mr Bill d’Apice (Chair), Sr Brigid Gleeson LCM, Father Ian Waters, Mr Garry Richardson and Ms Julie-Anne Schafer, together with Calvary Ministries Executive Officer Mr Pat Bugden were missioned at an impressive ceremony held in the chapel of Calvary North Adelaide on Wednesday 2nd February 2011, in the presence of Archbishop Philip Wilson, DD, JCL, the President of the Permanent Committee of the Australian Bishop’s Conference; and Sr Jennifer Barrow LCM, the Province Leader.

At the heart of this ceremony were the words spoken by Venerable Mary Potter to the early Sisters as they responded to the call to be at the service of the sick, dying and those in need – “Go forth, the God of Mary will be with you”.

For the new “servants” of the mission, in Calvary Ministries, these words of encouragement are deeply meaningful.

LCM Sisters from throughout Australia; LCM Health Care Directors; Executives from LCM Health Care National Office and Services; Calvary North Adelaide Auxiliary Members; representatives of The Mary Potter Foundation and Calvary Adelaide staff; together with the Calvary Choir joined in the ceremony.
